AI Agents That Reduce Manual Work and
Move EBITDA
Workflow agents scoped, built, and deployed inside the PortCo’s environment, governed by the right human-in-the-loop controls.
Agents are the most direct EBITDA lever in the AI stack when they are scoped correctly. They are also the most direct way to erode trust in AI when they are not. The difference is workflow discipline, build quality, and the controls that sit around the agent.
Performance Improvement Partners builds workflow agents that take real manual work out of the back office, return capacity to functional teams, and operate under the security and audit posture appropriate for a PE-owned business. Each agent ships against a defined productivity outcome.
Challenges We Solve
A back office burning hours on routine tasks across finance, operations, customer service, and HR. A growth plan that does not pencil out without scaling headcount the operating partner does not want to add. Internal pilots that worked in a sandbox but never made it into production.
Functional leaders who want agent support but cannot get the security, access, and governance answers they need. Sponsors who want the same productivity playbook applied across multiple PortCos rather than rebuilt each time.
Our Approach
We start at the workflow, not the model. Priority workflows get mapped in detail. Systems, inputs, handoffs, exceptions, and users are documented before any agent is scoped. The output is a build-ready agent brief with scope, requirements, success metrics, and the controls the agent will operate under.
We build inside the approved environment. The agent runs in the PortCo’s stack, against the PortCo’s data, under the security and access model already in place. There is no proprietary lock-in to a PIP platform and no shadow infrastructure for the IT team to inherit.
We design the human-in-the-loop. We define where the agent acts on its own, where it asks for review, where employees can override, and where exceptions escalate. Productivity gains come from the agent. Trust comes from the loop.
We put governance and monitoring in place. Accuracy, access, usage, audit trail, and improvement cadence are instrumented from day one, so the management team can see what the agent is doing and the CFO and CIO can answer the questions the board will ask.
For sponsors, the same scoping and sprint model runs across multiple PortCos so productivity outcomes compound at the portfolio level.
Common Engagement Areas
Workflow diagnostic and agent scoping across finance, operations, sales, customer service, HR, and legal. Agent build and deployment sprints inside the PortCo’s stack. Human-in-the-loop design and exception management. Agent governance, monitoring, and improvement frameworks. Functional rollout planning for cross-team or cross-PortCo deployment.
Outcomes Clients Can Expect
Measurable reductions in cycle time, manual touches, and error rates on the workflows targeted. Capacity returned to functional teams that were the throughput constraint on the operating plan. SG&A efficiency that shows up in management reporting and the board pack. A governance posture the CFO, CIO, and audit committee can defend. A repeatable sprint model the company can apply to the next set of workflows after PIP steps back.
Why PIP?
We build, we do not just advise. The output of the engagement is working software running against real workflows, not recommendations for someone else to implement.
We respect the stack. The agent lives in the PortCo’s environment, under the PortCo’s security model, with no lock-in to a PIP platform.
We design for trust. Human-in-the-loop, governance, and monitoring are part of the scope, not an afterthought added when audit asks.
We work at hold period speed. Scoping in weeks, first agents live in a quarter, productivity outcomes measured against a defined baseline.
Scope a Workflow Agent in Your Highest-Pain Function
Tell us the workflow that is burning hours and we will scope an agent build with you. Most engagements move from scoping to first deployment inside one quarter.
